Stephanie Brovold is the SC Regional Representative on the MAND Board!

Provide us with a brief description of your job: Prior to staying at home to raise my young children, I was a neonatal dietitian for almost 15 years.
What do you love about what you do? The most rewarding aspect of my work as a neonatal dietitian was influencing health outcomes in such a fragile population. Identifying the right feeding is critical for optimal growth and development, and my team trusted me, as the expert, to make the best decisions.
What are the challenges? With so many advances in neonatal medicine, we were constantly increasing our level of care, and began to have the ability to save infants as young as 22 weeks gestation. Supporting the emotional needs of the families we served, maintaining a high level of knowledge, and working efficiently as a team were among some of the greater challenges.
How has your MAND membership benefited you? As a relatively new Minnesotan temporarily out of the work force, connecting with fellow dietitians and having constant CE opportunities has been a major benefit.
What do you think is the future of nutrition and dietetics? Genetics and sustainable eating/food production.
What are your favorite activities/hobbies? Oil and acrylic painting, running, traveling
What is your favorite restaurant in Minnesota? Nolabelle in downtown Mankato.
