May Student/Intern Spotlight: Jacquie Conner

Jacquie Conner, Sodexo Dietetic Intern, Degree in Nutrition with a minor in Health Psychology, graduated in 2021 from University of MN
Where did you grow up? Plymouth, Minnesota
Why did you choose to pursue this degree? I chose nutrition because it really was the first passion of mine. I have always been interested in food but wanted to know the science behind why people choose the food they do.
What has surprised you about nutrition and dietetics? I did not know how many different paths I could choose as a dietetics professional. I have met so many people in the first months of my internship, and each person has their own unique dietetics interests.
What career path are you considering? I am considering becoming an Intuitive Eating/ Health and Every Size dietitian and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor
How has your MAND student membership benefitted you? I recently attended a virtual seminar by MAND called Food, Mood, and Mental Health and there were some really great speakers that really got me thinking about nutritional psychology!
What other interests or hobbies do you have? I love to bake, listen to true crime podcasts, and go on long walks while I listen to said podcasts 🙂
