
Hannah is a member of the MAND Student Board and a Senior at the College of Saint Benedict completing a major in Nutrition and will be receiving her DBD verification in December.
Tell us about yourself: I’ve always had a passion for health and wellness. I have put this into practice working closely with and supporting children as a teacher in a daycare. I’ve also had experience working at St. Cloud Hospital with housekeeping to keep spaces clean and safe for patients, guests and other employees. Lastly, I’ve gotten leadership experience in Food Service working at as a Lead at McGlynn’s, our on campus fast food place. I enjoy exercising, being active outdoors, getting my hands dirty and having fun with family and friends.
What got you interested in nutrition/dietetics? I’ve always had a passion for health and wellness. I loved learning about what different foods do for the body on a large scale and a small scale. At this time I was doing Exercise Science, but as I learned more about food insecurities and disparities related to nutrition, I knew that I wanted to help make positive nutrition changes in people’s lives.
What nutrition topics or issues are you interested in learning more about? Nutrition and PCOS, the guts effects on the body, nutrition from pregnancy through young adult, and sports nutrition
What type of career path(s) are you exploring? I would like to explore leadership positions and weight management.
