MAND January Board Member Spotlight: Jessica Carter

Jessica Carter, MAND Finance Director
Provide us with a brief description of your job: I currently own a yoga studio, work as a private practice dietitian, and am employed by the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). I am also a PhD student which is a job in itself. My yoga studio is a traditional studio serving the non-traditional yogi, my practice serves clients with a variety of nutritional needs, and I work as an eLearning Clinical Content Development Coordinator for IFM. My position with IFM involves research and development of content for learning purposes.
What do you love about what you do? I love that I get to be innovative in ways that support health and wellness.
What are the challenges? Time management and coordination of my schedule is the biggest challenge I face.
How has your MAND membership benefited you? Connection with other members.
What do you think is the future of nutrition and dietetics? I hope to see more dietitians involved in research, especially research that looks at human behavior with nutrition.
What are your favorite activities/hobbies? I like to read, paddle board, spend time with my family and pets, take walks, shop, and eat!
What is your favorite restaurant in Minnesota? Tutto Bene in Bemidji MN.
