Katie Tarnowski
Provide us with your school & program, degree and graduation date:  I hold a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin Superior, and Minnesota State University Mankato in Dietetics. I am currently a dietetic intern through Be Well Solutions, and a Master of Science Student through the University of Alabama in Nutrition. I will have completed my dietetic internship in June, along with my Master’s program in December of 2022.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Duluth, MN.
Why did you choose to pursue this degree? I chose to pursue this degree because I want to help others. I want to educate them and show them that health doesn’t have to be hard. It can start with simple changes, and simply just taking care of yourself in ways that you enjoy!
What has surprised you about nutrition and dietetics? What has really surprised me the most is what I have learned throughout my internship. I didn’t realize there were so many areas of dietetics, and areas that I thought I would love, I didn’t enjoy as much, and areas I thought I would strongly dislike I ended up loving.
What career path are you considering? Food Service & Sports Dietetics.
How has your MAND student membership benefitted you? It has given me key resources, along with networking events.
What other interests or hobbies do you have? I love to travel and spend time with friends and family. I love to workout, specifically hiking and strength training. I love to cook and try new recipes as well!
