Grant and Award opportunities through the Research Dietetic Practice Group.  Please encourage your students to apply as well!  All applications require an active RDPG membership.  Student Academy members can join the RDPG for just $15.  A regular, active, membership to the RDPG is $30.

Reckitt/Mead Johnson Nutrition/ Research Dietetic Practice Group Student Pilot Grant Award ($2,000)

The purpose of this grant is to provide pilot or seed money for a student project that is related to the first 1000 days of the lifecycle.  Proposal should discuss how project will align with stated purpose of grant.  Students must also submit a brief letter of support from a research mentor who has agreed to guide the project.  The support letter should be one page or less.  The award winner will be invited to attend the Research DPG Reception and Membership Business Meeting at FNCE® 2023 to discuss their research and receive the award.  If the winner is unable to attend, they will record a short video discussing their research.

Reckitt/Mead Johnson Nutrition/ Research Dietetic Practice Group Student Research Awards (Three recognition awards at $250 each)

Undergraduate and graduate students (at time of FNCE® abstract submission) listed as first author on a research abstract accepted for presentation at FNCE® are eligible to apply for one of three $250 recognition awards.  Recipients will briefly present their research at the Research DPG Reception and Membership Business Meeting at FNCE® 2023.  The abstract topic does NOT need to be related to the first 1000 days of the lifecycle.

Emerging Author Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize a member who has an outstanding publication.  To be eligible, applicant must be the first author of a peer-reviewed, scientific publication.  Applicant must also be a current student or be no more than 8 years past completion of their highest conferred degree. Paper must have been published (including e-published) in an issue of a refereed journal dated between August 15th, 2022 and July 1st, 2023.  Papers submitted or accepted but not published will not be considered this year but could be submitted for a future award.  Applicants may not submit the same paper for more than one award (i.e., you cannot submit the same paper for both the 2023 First Author and the 2023 Emerging Researcher Author Award).  Prior recipients of a RDPG author award must wait three years before reapplying for an author award.
