January Member Spotlight: Michelle Anderson

Michelle Anderson, RDN, LD / Learning & Development Partner
Provide us with a brief description of your job: I’m a Learning & Development Partner at Elior North America, a contract food service management company. In my role I consult with our seven business segments, as well as corporate to design and develop training. Training topics range from food and workplace safety to on-boarding, talent management and development of our team members.
What do you love about what you do? I enjoy being in a support role to partner with the various operations segments and functional groups to provide meaningful and relevant training and resources.
What are the challenges? In the fast-paced world of food service, COVID has presented a range of challenges. From a training perspective, quick pivoting and innovation is necessary to meet the needs of our operations.
How has your MAND membership benefited you? The MAND Annual meeting is an event I look forward to because the sessions are diverse and I get a lot of take aways from the speakers and networking. I am currently serving as the Regional Representative for the Twin Cities region. I enjoy getting to know MAND members and working with other board members to offer networking and education events that are appealing and engaging.
What do you think is the future of nutrition and dietetics? I would like to see our field partner with other professional organizations to learn from each other. Perhaps there are opportunities to collaborate in the events we offer.
What are your favorite activities/hobbies? Travel, cooking, reading, volunteering with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
What is your favorite restaurant in Minnesota? Ciao Bella – a nice terrace for outdoor dining and an extensive wine list!
