The purpose of the Outstanding Preceptor Award is to recognize the exceptional teaching, mentoring, and leadership activities of preceptors in ACEND®-accredited dietetics education programs.
Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (RYDY) Kendal Burstad is being recognized as the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year for …. “transforming the director of engagement at MAND by using social media analytics to strengthen connections and inspiring the board to discover new ways to provide meaningful value for our members.”
This award honors outstanding young dietitians who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and active involvement in the profession.
Outstanding Dietitian of the Year: Miranda Haugrud “is always among the first to volunteer her time and talent, making a meaningful impact on the MAND and advancing the field of dietetics through her dedication and leadership on the board.”
This award honors a dietitian whose work has gone above and beyond to benefit the profession, colleagues, and the community.
Outstanding Student awards go to Brook Meyer, Rachel Arends and Margaret McCann. These three exceptional students currently enrolled in a dietetics/nutrition education program. Students are recognized by the faculty of their institution for their leadership, determination, and passion for the nutrition and dietetics field.
GOLDEN APPLE Award: Posthumously to Melissa Hortman. Melissa is being honored posthumously for her outstanding advocacy for food security, championing universal free school meals, supporting SNAP, and expanding access to healthy food programs. Her work has made a lasting impact on Minnesotans’ health, well-being, and food access.
Recognizes organizations, businesses, and/or non-RD colleagues that have made significant contributions to the profession of dietetics in Minnesota.
